Forgot to post about Naples and Pompeii which should go after Rome before wine tasting in Spain!
After Rome, we were off to Naples! The piano player in the adult bar raved on and on about the tours of Pompeii, so we decided to do a half day tour. Pompeii is a town that is all ruins, right next to the volcanic Mount Vesuvius.

I rocked sneakers on Naples/Pompeii day. I hadn’t yet during the trip, but Rome killed my feet. Goodbye gladiator flats, hello arch support!

Pompeii was pretty interesting because I really didn’t know anything about it before we went. I thought it was more of a town that had a lot of ruins, but also was still functional. d it actually surprised me that we could tour it like this, I would think that maybe some of the areas wouldn’t be that structurally safe.
Once our bus brought us back to the port where the boat was docked, we got right to business finding a pizza place. Naples is known for inventing pizza, and it’s pizza was supposed to be amazing. We walked from the ship to the first main street on the water, and the first place we found looked pretty good so we went with that!
My mom and brother got a pizza split into three different sections, margarita, four cheese, and tomato and garlic. I got a classic margarita since I wanted the most authentic pizza Naples had to offer. My Dad got the most “American” pizza which was white topped with french fries and hot dogs.

The pizzas were great! We all sampled each others and I think that it was agreed that the margarita was the big winner. The sauce just had something that American pizzas don’t have…maybe more salt? I can’t tell, but I just know it was the best pizza I’ve ever had.

What was the best pizza you’ve ever had??
I’m more of a flatbread girl I think. Love those Seasons 52 flat breads…I could eat them all!
