Last night, I got an amazing opportunity to go a “real” sushi place. I normally don’t go out to a sit down sushi dinner, and have only been to nice places only a handful of times. The reason being that my family doesn’t like sushi, and if I am in a sushi mood with friends we normally get the local, cheap, take-out sushi. Amura was a hidden gem of Orlando, and I’m so glad our friends Mark, June, and Keith took us all to experience the awesome sushi!

A boat load of sushi…literally

Beauty and the Beast (Tuna, Eel, Krab, Avocado, Cream Cheese)
Unforgettable Roll (Spicy Tuna, Eel, and Tempura Crunch_

Spicy Samauri Roll (Spicy Tuna and Tuna)
Ginseng Stamina (Spicy Tuna, Salmon, Cream Cheese)
Tuna, Yellowtail, and Salmon Sashimi

Holy Moly we ate a ton of sushi! We were all pretty full when we left, and I was definitely glad I had the opportunity to experience some different kinds of sushi than I would normally order on my own.
I always feel that with ethnic cuisine, that if I go to restaurants where people can kind of interpret the menu for me, there is probably a ton of stuff I would like. Since I don’t normally go to Thai or Indian restaurants, I am hesitant to go and blindly order off the menu.
This morning, my family got up early and headed to the airport because sadly, their Florida post-holiday vacation is over. Lucky for me, I am staying until the Disney Half Marathon on Saturday! One more week of enjoying this beautiful Florida weather!
June and I, still probably full on sushi, went to a 9am Bikram class that was HOT. We decided that we definitely sweated out all the toxins from our weeks of eating and drinking on vacation. Bikram is always tough for me during the class and I really have to challenge myself to stick with it, focus, and not pass out. Once I hit the lying down series I know I am half way there (and if I pass out I’m at least close to the ground)…and I definitely think that walking out of that 110 degree room after 90 minutes is the best feeling in the world. The second best is when she says, “please lay down for your final savasana.” I always feel like I could lay there forever until I remember I’ve been in a sauna for an hour and a half and high tail it for the hallway. We both agreed that today’s class was VERY HOT (hotter than normal) and it may have had something to do with the class being pretty crowded…or the three extra space heaters I saw placed around the room. Either one.

Pre-Bikram with new LuLuLemon (outlet) tank. It was super comfortable and I was extra cozy knowing I got it at the reduced outlet price! I would post a post-Bikram shot of myself, but I want you to actually read my blog and not be disgusted at my sweat drenched self.
I came home and ate some great leftovers from our New Years breakfast at June’s house. They hit the spot after I lost 10 pounds of water weight at Bikram. May not look as pretty as the sushi presentation, but I assure you it was delicious.

I believe there is a lazy afternoon ahead of me. Possibly some fellow blog stalking while watching the Winter Classic. I also have to re-work this week’s training plan after one missed run and an unexpected yoga class! Only 5 days until Disney Half Marathon!
