Last night for new years, my family and friends on the family all went to a party thrown by our golf community. We all had a great time eating, drinking, and dancing until midnight. At midnight we went up onto the roof top bar to watch the fireworks from Disney.
New years buffet! Vegetable lasagna, beef brisket, Caesar salad, green beans, and stuffed potatoes (no chicken on my plate! Red below to see the reason why…)
After sleeping off all the fun, we went over to our friends, June and Mark’s, house for delicious homemade new years day brunch!
Now, we have full bellies, and it is time to watch some Eagles game and take a napski. Very excited to go out for sushi tonight!!!
Today is an off-day at the gym, as was yesterday. Tomorrow I start back by hitting the gym hard and going to yoga (getting a jump start on that 2 yoga classes a month resolution!)
Remember, no chicken on New Years! It’s a superstition we follow in this house! Some explanation:
“one should refrain from eating “chicken or turkey on the first day of the year lest, like the birds in question, diners fate themselves to scratch in the dirt all year for their dinner (that is, bring poverty upon themselves)” – Snopes.com
I hope you all had a fun and safe new years! Let’s make 2012 amazing!
